Well I watered down the 38 last night to raise the grain for a final sanding. Maannnnnn did she look nice.
I also saw where I had not gotten all of the Titebond II glue off so I have some more minor adjusting to do.
Looks like temps are going back up into the 70's this weekend and Monday-Tuesday. Might be mixing up some epoxy.
I gotta be honest. I've never built a canoe before. My brain thinks in terms of right angles and strait lines (because that's been my structural profession for the past 25 years). So this has been all learning curve for me. And just about every step we've had to think through to see how to do it. Some of it's been just plain bravery test.
But man what a ride. Chris (our son) and I will look back on this building time together for years. (Hopefully with fond memories) ;D
If you need encouragement to try - go for it. Holy cats if I can do this you sure can. If you can't build with one of your kids - grab a kid in your neighborhood and be a mentor!
